Andrew Corp. completes communications system installation for Hong Kong railway

advertisement

Andrew Corp. recently designed and installed a commercial communications system for Kowloon-Canton Railway Corp.’s new West Rail line in Hong Kong.

Carrying a RF signal along the entire 19-mile Nam Ceong-to-Tuen Mun line, the equipment enables commuters to use cell phones without interruption — even in tunnels and stations.

Andrew installed EOCell fiber-optic distribution equipment, RADIAX® radiating cables, and HELIAX® coaxial cables and connectors to boost coverage in the line’s nine stations and along part of the track. The supplier also added amplifiers in tunnels to expand mobile phone and wireless device coverage.
