Econify boots up Web-based inventory location service for rail industry

Software provider Econify Inc. recently launched RailFood.com, a Web-based inventory location service for the railway industry.

Registered users can post, search and locate inventory, as well as contact each other directly through a secure server. During a public test phase, users can post items for free. In June, a part listing will cost 10 cents for every 30 days the inventory is listed, regardless of value or quantity, Econify said.

“Railway operators and suppliers often need parts and materials right away. Sourced through traditional channels, it can take weeks or even months for an item to be manufactured, packaged and shipped,” said Econify President Vince Wadhwani in a prepared statement. “That same part could be in stock at a railroad vendor that may be small or unknown.”
