Alstom promoted Marc Bernier to the role of vice president, rolling stock and components (RSC), North America, effective Dec. 1. Bernier has served as Alstom's chief financial officer for the Americas region since the company acquired Bombardier Transportation in 2021. In his new role, Bernier will oversee Alstom's North American RSC engineering, development and production sites. He will be responsible for delivering rolling stock projects in the region, where Alstom produces and maintains rail vehicles, including high-speed trains, commuter- and light-rail vehicles.

TNW Corp., a logistics company operating three short lines and multiple transload facilities in Texas, has appointed three to the leadership team: Phil Logan is now director of operations; Michael Payne is now director of safety, environmental and safety; and Levi Gracy is now senior sales manager. Logan has over 30 years of experience in short-line and Class I operations and will oversee all railroad transportation and locomotive function, TNW officials said in a press release. Payne is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has 30 years of rail industry experience in safety management, operations and workforce development. Gracy has worked in the rail industry since 2007.

The Soy Transportation Coalition (STC) elected new board officers during its annual meeting in Anaheim, California, on Nov. 20. Raylen Phelon of Melvern, Kansas, was elected chairman after serving as vice chairman last year. C.J. Chalfant of Hartford City, Indiana, was elected vice chairman, after serving as STC secretary-treasurer last year. Nathan White of Norborne, Missouri, was elected secretary-treasurer. Mike Koehne of Greensburg, Indiana, concluded his service on the STC board due to term limits, according to an STC press release.
