AllTranstek LLC will acquire the assets of RAS Data Services, having been the prevailing bidder on an auction that concluded Dec. 11. AllTranstek, a rail-car fleet management and tank car technical expertise provider, anticipates the transaction will close in mid January 2026, following final documentation and court approval, according to a company press release. RAS offers the same scope of services as AllTranstek, and its operations will be integrated into AllTranstek's service model. AllTranstek plans to retain key RAS employees and will work to support RAS' clients without disruption. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
STV Inc. led development on the California High-Speed Rail Authority's draft environmental impact report and environmental impact statement (EIR/EIS) for the Los Angeles-to-Anaheim section of the planned high-speed rail system, according to an STV press release. The document outlines how the environmental impacts of the proposed segment will be mitigated. A public review of the document concludes Feb. 3, 2026. STV coordinated the technical input, agency comments and the three-volume release that includes engineering plans and the environmental analysis. Since the segment will operate on an existing rail corridor, the draft EIR/EIS outlines how the segment of rail will have minimal negative impacts on the communities it crosses.
Multi-Service Center (MSC) and Shelter Resources Inc. (SRI) were selected by Sound Transit in Seattle to develop 230 affordable housing units on property adjacent to Sound Transit's Federal Way Downtown Station as part of a transit-oriented development (TOD) project. The developers propose constructing two residential buildings complemented by nonprofit food and housing support services. The transit agency began service on the Link 1 Line light-rail extension from Angle Lake to Downtown Federal Way on Dec. 6. "With this project we continue to advance our transit-oriented development program along the Federal Way Link extension and further our mission of connecting more people to more places and opportunities," said Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine.
