Duos Technologies Group Inc. has received a renewal of SAFETY Act Designation for its praesidium® technology from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Enacted by Congress in 2002, the SAFETY Act provides legal liability protections for providers of qualified antiterrorism technologies and their customers, Duos officials said in a press release. To achieve the designation, Duos had to demonstrate that praesidium® has the capacity to deter, defend against, identify, respond to or mitigate an act of terrorism. The company received initial SAFETY Act designation in 2010 with a retroactive protection for technologies deployed after April 1, 2004.

The two lines will connect additional city districts and the international airport to the Peruvian capital's mass transit network, Siemens officials said in a press release.
