ENSCO Rail has received a contract to equip two CN hi-rail vehicles with a track geometry measurement system and a machine vision joint bar inspection system to assess track condition. The systems are compliant with regulations set forth by Transport Canada and the Federal Railroad Administration, according to an ENSCO press release.

Amtrak has certified the NxGen Rail Services track inspection car for operation on the back of the national passenger railroad's trains. Amtrak's trains can now be used to provide access to the company's NxTrack high-speed rail inspection cars for clients nationwide. NxGen Rail Services is a subsidiary of Sasser Family Holdings, which also owns Chicago Freight Car Leasing Co.

Greenbrier Cos. reported net earnings of $42.8 million, or $1.33 per diluted share, for the third quarter of fiscal-year 2015, which ended May 31. The company's earnings for the same quarter in FY2014 were $33.6 million. The freight-car supplier logged a record $714.6 million in revenue for the fiscal quarter, compared with $593.3 million in the same quarter of FY2014.

Miner Enterprises promoted Andrew Kries to director of engineering. Previously manager of mechanical testing at the company, Kries has been with Miner for 24 years.  In his new role, he'll lead the company's efforts to meet customer needs through advanced technology.

Hanson Professional Services Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Sergio "Satch" Pecori joined the executive advisory board of the National University Rail (NURail) Center. Pecori began his career at Hanson in 1974, and has worked on several projects in the United States and abroad.
