The Heico Cos. has acquired Kershaw, a rail maintenance and vegetation management equipment provider. Financial details were not disclosed. Formerly part of Progress Rail, Kershaw now joins the heavy equipment segment of Heico's applied solutions group, according to a Heico press release. The acquisition positions Kershaw for increased scale, enhanced resources and deeper market reach, Heico officials said. "This move strengthens our market leadership in rail maintenance, vegetation management and adjacent maintenance-of-way sectors, positioning us for long-term success," said Derran Smith, president of Heico's heavy equipment segment.

Trainyard Tech LLC will deploy its flagship ClassMaster process control system at Ferrocarril y Terminal del Valle de Mexico's yard in Mexico City, marking its first installation in Mexico. The ClassMaster system provides fully automated train classification, routing and yard management. The technology increases throughput, reduces dwell times and improves safety, Trainyard Tech officials said in a press release. ClassMaster is in operation at U.S. and Canadian rail yards.

Konux launched modular data intelligence platform, Konux CoBrix. An AI scale-up with deployments across Europe and pilots launched in North America and Australia, the platform is designed to eliminate siloed data across the U.S. rail industry by serving as a broad digital infrastructure foundation. The system combines railroads' sensor data with Konux's existing AI, sensor and data processing abilities, Konux officials said in a press release.

Forte Construction Corp. completed two elevator replacements at the MTA New York City Transit 14th Street and Eighth Avenue subway station. Forte crews replaced the exterior elevator from the street level to the mezzanine, installed a canopy, replaced the elevator from the L train platform to the mezzanine with a roped hydraulic elevator, upgraded the elevator equipment rooms, and installed electrical and mechanical equipment.
