Hitachi Rail has published its 2025 sustainability statement on its progress in advancing low-emission mobility and the company's other environmental, social and governance core areas. Earlier this year, the company announced its sustainability "PLEDGES" strategy that includes ambitious targets such as a 75% reduction by 2027 in greenhouse gases at its operational sites. "Hitachi Rail is a business with a clear social purpose and our 2025 statement underlines that sustainability is at the core of our growth," Hitachi Rail Group CEO Guiseppe Marino said in a press release. The statement can be viewed here.

DHL Group, a logistics provider, is accelerating its enterprise-wide artificial intelligence strategy through a new partnership between its contract logistics division, DHL Supply Chain, and the AI startup HappyRobot. The collaboration marks a significant step in deploying agentic AI to streamline operational communication and enhance both customer experience and employee engagement, DHL officials said in a press release. DHL Supply Chain has already used HappyRobot’s AI agents across several regions and use cases, including appointment scheduling, driver follow-up calls and high-priority warehouse coordination.

Steelpaint GmbH has completed a milestone contract in which its advanced polyurethane-based corrosion protection system has been applied to a footbridge at Roding Valley London Underground Station. Roding Valley Station, Buckhurst Hill, Essex, is situated on the London Underground’s Central line and forms part of the Hainault Loop. Its elevated footbridge, which links the station’s two platforms, provides access to residential areas north and south of the line. The bridge was closed for refurbishment from early May until August. Transport for London contractor M Group Rail & Aviation selected Steelpaint’s three-layer moisture-curing polyurethane system for protecting the steelwork due to its reliability, longevity and ease of application, Steelpaint officials said in a press release.
