Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, a transportation and technology licensing company focused on realizing the hyperloop, has been designated the technology provider within a joint venture of Italian-based industrial companies Webuild and Leonardo. The joint venture will study the feasibility of a hyperloop operating prototype, named Hyper Transfer, to carry cargo and passengers. When completed, the effort could lead to the construction of the world’s first commercial hyperloop system in Italy. In June 2023, the HyperloopTT-powered consortium, called Hyper Builders, won the successful bid on the tender issued by the Venetian Motorway Concession, Italy’s regional highway operator, which calls for a hyperloop prototype on a section between Venice-Mestre and Padua, Italy.

Alstom was chosen to implement Cubris’ driver-advisory system on Transport for London’s Elizabeth line, an urban-suburban rail service in London. The line operates from Reading and Hethrow Airport to Shenfield and Abbey Wood. TheGreenSpeed product by Cubris is a real-time driver advisory system support rail standards and protocols. Cubris was acquired by Thales Group in 2018.

Ingram Barge Co. LLC has launched Ingram Infrastructure Group LLC, a new material-handling and supply-chain solutions subsidiary. The move was fueled by Ingram finalizing its acquisitions of Inland River Transport Holdings LLC and NexStar Solutions LLC, marking a sizable expansion in Ingram’s services and assets, company officials said in a press release. As part of the NexStar acquisition, Bill Kinzeler, Daniel Lester and Frank Prentiss have joined Ingram Infrastructure as the senior leadership team. The NexStar team has experience managing more than 100 terminal assets, 30 railroads and more than 900 trucking assets over the last 20 years.
