Rail supplier news from IntegriCo, Radiant Logistics, Tideworks, Eurotunnel, Cambridge and WAGO (April 6)

IntegriCo Inc. has secured $11 million for the opening of a new composite tie facility in Springhill, La. Engineering and equipment installation has begun under the management of the Southland Process Group, an Atlanta-based equipment supplier. The first of several strategic expansions, the new facility will bring IntegriCo's crosstie capacity to 1 million ties per year, company officials said in a press release.

Radiant Logistics Inc. has acquired supply chain logistics provider Wheels Group Inc. for $79.3 million, which includes Wheels' net debt, Radiant officials said in a press release. The acquisition follows earlier approval from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Wheels Group is one of the largest non-asset-based, third-party logistics providers in Canada.

Tideworks Technology Inc. announced CSX Intermodal Terminals Inc. (CSXIT) deployed the Intermodal Pro® terminal operating system at CSX's new intermodal facility in Winter Haven, Fla. CSXIT also is using Tideworks' Traffic Control work dispatch and equipment control system at the facility. The deployment at the Winter Haven facility is one of five now live with Tideworks' terminal operating system, Tideworks officials said.

Eurotunnel, which manages the Channel Tunnel between Great Britain and France, has selected Quintiq to provide a software platform that will schedule the Tunnel's maintenance operations. Quintiq will provide a single software solution that will help Eurotunnel respond to day-to-day disruptions, streamline maintenance operations and make preventive maintenance decisions for up to three years in advance, Eurotunnel officials said.

Cambridge Systematics has hired Gary Hamrick as a project manager in the firm's transportation operations group in Los Angeles. Hamrick will work on state, county and local transportation master planning, as well as corridor and environmental transportation studies. Previously, Hamrick spent 24 years at traffic management firm Iteris, including 10 years as vice president. Meanwhile, Cambridge also appointed Andreas Aeppli, Feng Liu and Scott Meeks to principals of the company.

WAGO appointed Brian Ley industry manager of transportation. He has experience in technical and operations management, engineering and consulting. Ley will represent WAGO on two American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way committees.
