Keolis Commuter Services, which operates and maintains commuter-rail services for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, has hired Manuel Liongson as chief financial officer and vice president of finance, planning and performance. Liongson comes to Keolis after nine years at Philips North America, where he most recently was finance director for North America, sales and service. He has served 20 years in financial leadership for the health care, technology and manufacturing sectors.
Duos Technologies Inc. received a $1.9 million contract add-on for one of its passenger-rail clients using the Rail-car Inspection Portal system, which is designed to capture high-speed images of rail cars for safety inspections. The add-on will enhance the portal system by including a 360-degree advanced wheel tread and brake system to capture and display images for defect detection and analysis.
Koppers Holdings Inc. awarded its Ashcroft, British Columbia, facility with the annual Zero Harm President’s Award for best-in-company performance in safety, environmental responsibility and innovation. The Ashcroft team held a record of zero property damage or permit exceedance incidents in 2022. Employees at the facility also had the highest number of innovation ideas implemented into company operations. The plant supplies treated hardwood and softwood crossties, timbers and untreated crossing planks to Class I and commercial customers.
