Ondas Holdings Inc. announced its subsidiaries Ondas Networks and American Robotics announced a definitive agreement to acquire Ardenna, which produces image processing and machine learning software for rail monitoring and inspections. The acquisition will enable American Robotics’ autonomous Scout System to grow within the rail industry by using advanced analytic software to inspect rail lines via drone, Ondas officials said in a press release.

WAGO Corp. has promoted Tyrone Visser to North American business development manager for IIoT and Linux. Visser will be responsible for demonstrating the capabilities of the company’s PFCs and Edge Devices, which include cloud-based transmission, open-source software and custom visualization, WAGO officials said in a press release. He previously was a regional sales manager in Canada for the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba territories.

AECOM has appointed Sally Librera to lead its North American transit business division. She joined AECOM as senior vice president on Jan. 25. Prior to that, her 25-year career in the public and private sectors included oversight of operations as Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) chief officer for the Staten Island Railway and MTA New York City Transit. In her new role, Librera will be responsible for setting the company’s strategic course and continuing AECOM's transit business growth in North America, according to an AECOM press release.

The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) is accepting applications for its education grant program, which awards a grant to a U.S. college, university or technical school that offers a rail construction, engineering or construction management program. The NRC will award $15,000 to the top applicant, to be judged by the NRC Education Committee. The application deadline is April 29.
