RailComm LLC has been acquired by Tracsis, a provider of software, hardware, data analytics/GIS and services for the rail, traffic data and wider transport industries. The acquisition is in line with Tracsis’ strategy of extending its rail software footprint, company officials said in a press release. RailComm provides automation and control solutions designed to reduce costs, increase safety and improve operational efficiency for freight- and passenger-rail operators and rail-served ports/industrials.

TRAC Intermodal is increasing its fleet of 40-foot chassis through a partnership with American Made Chassis (AMC), an alliance of LB Steel and Integrated Industries. Under the agreement, LB Steel will build frames for the new chassis and Integrated Industries will blast, paint and install all equipment components at its plant in Dixmoor, Illinois. The AMC chassis capacity will complement TRAC’s core manufacturer capacity, TRAC officials said in a press release.

Transdev has hired Mandee Steele as vice president of business development. She has worked in transit for many years, both on the private and agency side. Through her transit and consulting experience, she’s built strong relationships with key transit stakeholders, including government, county and department of transportation executives, according to a Transdev press release.

McMillen Jacobs Associates recently won the Outstanding Award in the transportation and development category of the American Society of Civil Engineers-Seattle’s Local Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (LOCEA) Awards for the Northgate Link Extension project. As Sound Transit’s prime consultant, McMillen Jacobs provided project management, tunnel and underground structure design, estimating and scheduling and geotechnical engineering services.
