Railroad Consultants (RC) has appointed Ann Holland vice president of operations. Previously, she served a Class I where she managed supply chain asset disposition for engineering. Holland also has experience in operations analysis, network planning, business process and financial forecasting. She is expected to use data mining tools to build a process making the company more efficient and effective, RC officials said in a press release.

Thales has been selected by ProRail to implement the ERTMS Central Safety System on the Netherlands’ railway network covering 4,350 miles of track. The 37-year contract has a value of 420 million euros. Thales was also selected to provide Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with an integrated control center for a combined total of 100 trains and 62 miles of track. Thales will install its SelTrac communications-based train control and AlTrac train supervision technology.

Koppers employees Min Kuang and Amber Leech are being honored with The Manufacturing Institute’s 2022 STEP Ahead Awards, which recognize women who demonstrate excellence and leadership in manufacturing. Kuang is a senior research scientist in Griffin, Georgia, who joined the company in 2016. Leech is a customer support specialist in Harmarville, Pennsylvania, who joined Koppers in 2019 following a two-year internship with the company.
