Randon Implementos has entered the North American semi-trailer market by inking a purchase intention agreement for the North American semi-trailer manufacturer Hercules. The $40 million deal will be finalized later this year. Headquartered in Brazil, Randon is the largest semi-trailer manufacturer in Latin America and has a presence in 120 countries worldwide. Randon Cos. already operate in the U.S. market with business units that include Fras-le, an auto-parts manufacturer.

Hitachi Rail has launched new mobile apps for transit riders and agencies. The apps, called 360Pass and Lumada Intelligent Mobility Management Suite, enable riders to connect with transportation hands-free using Bluetooth sensors. Transit management systems allow for real-time tracking of passenger and multimodal flows as well as “smart ticketing” and traffic flow management, Hitachi Rail officials said in a press release. The launch took place in Genoa, Italy.
