STV Inc. has promoted Jeff Church to vice president, strengthening the firm's leadership in the Georgia market. Church joined STV in 2015 and has been instrumental in advancing STV's statewide transportation operations, STV officials said in a press release. Church will guide STV's transportation strategy in Georgia while supporting the firm's broader strategies, they added.
RINA has hired Joe Ivanyo as a senior program manager within the multinational engineering firm's rail and transit group. Ivanyo has 30 years of rail engineering, signal systems and large program delivery experience. He previously served as associate vice president and rail group director at AECOM Technical Services and as chief engineer at CSX.
Quality Turbo this week announced it has expanded into the locomotive sales and acquisition market under the brand Quality Locomotive. Building onto its core markets in turbocharger remanufacturing and locomotive components, the Texas- and Kentucky-based company aims to meet operators' need for a partner that can acquire, service and sell both locomotives and individual components that are tailored to specific needs, Quality Turbo officials said in a press release.
Geoforce this week announced it was awarded a multi-year U.S. Army Transportation Command rail car in-transit visibility contract. The Texas-based company began deploying tracking and remote monitoring solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense-owned rail cars in December last year, Geoforce officials said in a press release. The contract award follows Geoforce's acquisition of AssetLink Global. The company plans to integrate AssetLink's sensor applications and satellite communications to create a comprehensive IoT solution for field-centric industries.
The Soy Transportation Coalition (STC) has added the Virginia Soybean Board as a member organization. Virginia is the 15th state soybean board to join the coalition. Combined, the 15 boards represent about 88% of total U.S. soybean production, STC officials said in a press release. The STC promotes diversification and investment in agricultural transportation methods, including freight rail.
