Stantec has been selected to design the California High-Speed Rail Authority's extension from Merced to Madera, a key section between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The 33.9-mile extension will include 40 structures. The Merced to Madera design contract is valued at $41 million and expected to be delivered over two years. Stantec will finalize the project configuration footprint, advance design work to refine costs and travel-time enhancements, and map right-of-way needs and utility relocations.

Brookville Equipment Corp. has promoted Joel McNeil to executive vice president. He will continue to oversee business development, as well as additional strategic leadership and organizational development duties. McNeil joined the company full time in 2008. In his previous role as VP of business development, he was integral in leading his team to capture important projects, including streetcar projects in Dallas; Detroit; Milwaukee; Oklahoma City; Tempe, Arizona; Tacoma, Washington; and Portland, Oregon.

Railinc, in collaboration with Commtrex, is now offering outsourced logistics and fleet management services. Along with its TransmetriQ rail management system software, Railinc now can provide new and existing customers with fully outsourced or on-demand physical management of their rail program. In turn, Commtrex will utilize the TransmetriQ software and data analytics products to provide end-to-end visibility and streamline operations for its more than 1,500 rail-served members.

STV Inc. officials recently joined the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority to mark the opening of the Green Line Extension (GLX) at the Medford/Tufts terminus. STV served as the lead designer for GLX, as part of the design-build team led by Fluor Corp./Middlesex Corp./Herzog Contracting Corp./Balfour Beatty joint venture–GLX Constructors.
