Cooper Bearings Inc. recently completed construction of a 35,000-square-foot facility in a new technology park that's part of the Sussex County Airport in Georgetown, Del. The plant was designed to utilize more efficient manufacturing techniques, as well as PowerRail's new TrueBlue™ manufacturing system to ensure product quality, Cooper Bearings officials said in a prepared statement. The company remanufactures bearings and journal boxes for the rail industry.

Rhonda Zielinski has joined Chicago Freight Car Leasing Co. as vice president of sales and customer support. She will serve as the senior sales and customer support management executive. Previously, she had a long career with Navistar, where she had key roles of increasing responsibility. Her management experience includes partner channel management and leading cross functional sales, marketing and product development teams, according to a company press release.

Parsons Brinckerhoff named David Alvarez a principal consultant and James Shedaker, a principal technical specialist. Alvarez will serve as a technical and commercial adviser on existing and future projects, and will take a lead in execution of public-private partnerships. Prior to joining the firm, Alvarez was executive director of the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority. Shedaker will serve as an operations specialist on the New Jersey high-speed rail improvement program, working with Amtrak and New Jersey Transit to develop construction staging plans and coordinate track utilization and power outages.

Arup has hired Joseph Edge and Christopher Taylor as associate principals to augment its regional transit market offerings. Edge is senior project and program manager with more than 27 years of experience running major domestic and international large-scale projects and programs for highway and rail infrastructure. Taylor serves as project manager and lead engineer for railroad right-of-way and station projects. His primary responsibility will be to deliver a high-speed rail project in Texas.
