Toyota recognizes Union Pacific for logistics excellence

Toyota Logistics Services has awarded Union Pacific Railroad the 2014 Logistics Excellence Awards for customer service and service performance.

The recognition from Toyota marks the seventh consecutive year that UP has earned the Excellence in Customer Service Award for superior performance and the fourth time in the past six years that the Class I earned the transit and service performance award, UP officials said in a press release.

The awards were based on UP's commitment to outstanding service, ranging from customized logistics offerings to a solid supply of equipment when and where it's needed.

Toyota Logistics Services recognizes outstanding performance of its logistics providers, including railroad, truck and marine companies. To determine who receives awards for customer service and service performance awards, Toyota considers communication, equipment supply, transit performance, responsiveness, collaboration, business controls and overall ease of doing business.

UP Vice President and General Manager-Automotive Linda Brandl said UP employees "take great pride" in the recognition from Toyota.
