Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division-IBT (BMWED) members who work on the Delaware & Hudson Railway Co. (D&H) recently ratified a new collective bargaining agreement that provides annual wage increases through 2024 and is retroactive to 2022.
The agreement also includes early $1,000 bonuses, no reductions to health and welfare benefits or changes to cost sharing, and an additional paid day off per year. The D&H is part of Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
The deal reflects the findings of a Presidential Emergency Board and its recommendations, according to a BMWED news release. Although the D&H was not a party to the PEB because it didn't bargain with the National Carriers Conference Committee, those recommendations did provide the framework for an equitable contract agreement, BMWED officials said.
"Members on the Delaware & Hudson will see substantial raises and other away-from-home improvements as a result of this contract," said American Rail System Federation General Chairman Johnny Long, who represents the MOW members at the D&H.
