TNW to help develop Port of Victoria in Texas (7/28/2021)

The Victoria County Navigation District in Texas has selected TNW Corp. to provide rail operations at the Port of Victoria and co-develop a planned 3,000 acre multimodal logistics facility.

The port is a shallow draft inland facility that provides access to the Intracoastal Waterway, a shipping route stretching 3,000 miles along the U.S. Coast. It offers rail access to Houston, San Antonio and Austin, and intersects with three major U.S. highways that connect to those cities.

The port's north and south industrial sites are situated on more than 3,000 acres. The site is served by two Class Is and offers multimodal transportation solutions and logistics advantages, TNW officials said in a press release.

The alliance with TNW will "bring significant growth" to Victoria's economic development, said Sean Stibich, the port's executive director.

"[TNW's] industry knowledge and resources in railroading and logistics will add significant value for our customers, who will be able to take advantage of transportation and service options as our port grows and expands," Stibich said.

TNW is a privately held owner and operator of short lines and transportation logistics companies.
