On May 19, Progressive Railroading hosted a virtual summit titled "The Connection of Technology and Data in Railroading." Among the presenters: Allan Zarembski, professor and director of the railroad engineering and safety program at the University of Delaware.
Zarembski discussed the role Big Data is playing (and will continue to play) in the rail realm, focusing on "the track side of things," as he put it -- how the data is being collected, used and analyzed. Watch/listen to his presentation here:
