President Barack Obama yesterday announced his intent to nominate Derek Kan and Anthony Coscia to serve on Amtrak's board.Kan is director of strategy at Genapsys. Previously, he served as a management consultant at Bain & Co. and as an adviser at Elliott Management. Kan also has served as a policy adviser to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, the chief economist for the Senate Republican Policy Committee and presidential management fellow at the White House Office of Management and Budget.Coscia currently serves on Amtrak's board, a position he’s held since June 2010. He is a partner at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf LLP. From 2003 to 2011, Coscia chaired the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's board. "I am grateful that these talented and dedicated individuals have agreed to take on these important roles and devote their talents to serving the American people. I look forward to working with them," President Obama said in a press release.
