Forbes names Amtrak to 'Best Employers 2017' list

Amtrak has been recognized as a top U.S. employer by Forbes magazine.

The national intercity passenger railroad was named to the magazine's "America's Best Employers" list for the third consecutive year, Amtrak officials said yesterday in a press release.

Listed under the transportation and logistics category, Amtrak was chosen based on Forbes' independent survey of 30,000 workers throughout the United States to see which companies were the best.

"Amtrak is a great company because of the people who continuously keep our customers safe and make the railroad the smarter way to travel," said Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman. "We want employees to find a safe workplace, challenging work, and receive the reward of competitive pay and benefits in a performance-oriented culture."
