Amtrak has appointed Matt Hardison chief marketing and sales officer to succeed Emmett Fremaux, who has retired.
Hardison will be responsible for sales distribution and customer service, field marketing, advertising and sales promotion, Amtrak Guest Rewards program, market research and analysis, reservation sales, on-board systems, pricing and revenue management, eTicketing and eCommerce, Amtrak officials said in a prepared statement.
Hardison joined Amtrak in 1999 as senior director of commercial partnerships. He is credited with designing and building Amtrak's Guest Rewards loyalty marketing program. In 2002, Hardison was promoted to chief of sales distribution and customer service, where during the past 10 years he and his team introduced Wi-Fi and eTicketing, improved revenue management and launched the "Julie" voice recognition system, Amtrak officials said.
Hardison previously was vice president of Hagler Bailly Inc., and senior vice president and chief operating officer of Apogee Research Inc.
