Amtrak recently named D.J. Stadtler vice president of operations to oversee the transportation, engineering and mechanical departments.
He will be responsible for service delivery, including train crews, locomotives and other train equipment; stations, food and beverage; and Amtrak-owned infrastructure in the Northeast Corridor and elsewhere.
Stadtler has served as Amtrak’s acting VP of operations since December and previously was the railroad’s chief financial officer. He has more than 20 years of experience, including more than 11 years at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
