A month after removing it, Amtrak has reinstated the monthly pass for its Milwaukee-to-Chicago Hiawatha line, according to an article on the CBS58 website.
In early November, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Amtrak announced a new fare schedule for the Amtrak Hiawatha Service, including new sliding fares and the elimination of a $400 monthly pass that provided passengers unlimited rides.
On Dec. 18, Amtrak announced it reinstated the monthly Hiawatha pass for $650, a $250 increase over the previous price. The unlimited Milwaukee-Chicago fare is available now for January for $650, with lower prices for shorter distances.
When asked if the monthly pass would extend beyond January, Amtrak officials told CBS58 the pass was a continuing product.
