Amtrak seeks 'master developer' for Chicago Union Station
Amtrak has issued a request for qualification (RFQ) for a master developer of commercial space in and near Chicago Union Station.
In October 2015, Amtrak sought local, regional and national developers interested in the opportunity to redevelop the Amtrak-owned station and surrounding land parcels, as well as improvements to passenger and employee facilities.

Industry response to that request was strong and helped Amtrak develop the RFQ, Amtrak officials said in a press release.
"Amtrak believes that bringing in private equity through a master developer can best achieve the desired outcome that optimizes [Chicago Union Station] as an asset that serves more than 33 million travelers and commuters per year," said Stephen Gardner, Amtrak executive vice president, infrastructure development.
Responses are due July 1. Those interested in submitting a response must contact Michael.Doonan@Amtrak.com with Amtrak Procurement. The RFQ is posted at procurement.amtrak.com.
