advertisement
The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA), which oversees Metrolink commuter-rail service, has contracted Amtrak to operate Metrolink trains on all seven of the Los Angeles agency’s lines, beginning June 26.
Under the four-year contract, which allows for two three-year extensions, Amtrak will provide train and engine crews to operate Metrolink’s locomotives and rail.
SCRRA chose Amtrak, in part, due to its safety performance, according to a prepared statement.
