The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and Amtrak have reached a tentative contract agreement that governs rates of pay, benefits and work rules for about 1,400 locomotive engineers.Ballots and a synopsis of the agreement were mailed to active members who work for the railroad. Voting will conclude April 1, according to a BLET press release.If ratified, the agreement would cover the more than 1,400 locomotive engineers who operate Amtrak passenger and commuter trains over its 21,000-mile, 46-state system.
