Three Amtrak-operated California intercity routes — Capitol Corridor, Pacific Surfliner and San Joaquins – are again offering fare discounts to U.S. military veterans.

All three routes previously offered a national 15 percent discount for veterans, but discontinued the discount in March 2018.

The reduced fare is being restored as part of the California Everyday Discount program, which is also available to active military, students, seniors and passengers with disabilities.

"We’re proud to partner with the Capitol Corridor and Pacific Surfliner to bring back the veteran’s discount,” said Vito Chiesa, chair of the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority, which manages the Amtrak San Joaquins route.
