The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) on Monday announced a short list of qualified teams that will be invited to submit a proposal as a delivery partner for the Hudson Tunnel Project on the Northeast Corridor.

The delivery partner will provide "key areas of support" for the project, GDC officials said in a prepared statement. The project calls for rehabilitating the existing tunnel under the Hudson River that carries Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains between New York and New Jersey, and building a new tunnel and rail infrastructure to carry trains while the existing tunnel is being rehabilitated.

The GDC has selected the following teams to respond to the request for proposals: Bechtel-HNTB joint venture, Hudson Delivery Partnership (Atkins North America Inc., Arup US Inc. and The McKissack Group Inc.) and MPA Delivery Partners (Parsons Transportation Group of New York Inc., Arcadis of New York Inc. and Mace North America Limited).

The identified teams are among those that submitted a statement of qualifications earlier this month in response to a request for qualifications issued by GDC through Amtrak.
