BNSF Railway Co. yesterday designated four new industrial locations as Certified Sites.

The sites are located in Kansas, Nebraska, Washington and Wyoming. To be considered for Certified Site designation, sites are analyzed according to environmental and geotechnical standards, available utilities, site availability and existing and proposed infrastructure.

"A customer who builds a new rail-served facility at one of these sites is expected to save six-to-nine months of valuable construction time as a result of this shovel-ready program," said Chris Danos, BNSF's assistant vice president of economic development, in a press release.

The following new Certified Sites feature acreage ready for development:

  • Dodge City Business Park in Kansas, a 244-acre location on the BNSF network along U.S. Highways 56 and 109.
  • Seward/Lincoln Regional Rail Campus in Nebraska, a 194-acre industrial-zoned site with direct access to the BNSF network. The campus is in south Seward, 25 miles from Lincoln, with access to Interstate 80.
  • Reimann Industrial Center in Pasco, Washington, a 150-acre site located west of State Highway 395. It is owned by the Port of Pasco, which offers a rail spur and runs adjacent to the BNSF network.
  • Upton Logistics Center in Wyoming, a 295-acre site zoned for heavy industrial operations and bordered to the east by BNSF. It is operated by Tiger Transfer, a BNSF Premier Transloader.
