BNSF Railway Co. last week announced construction of a new 3.5-mile segment of double track on its Fort Worth subdivision now is complete.

The subdivision runs between the Texas-Oklahoma border and Temple, Texas. The recently completed section of double track, part of a multiyear infrastructure project, is located in the area of Saginaw, Texas, according to Dec. 6 BNSF post on social media site X.

"This additional capacity opens up more growth opportunity for our customers, improving efficiency across another important section of our vast network," BNSF officials said on X.

Once the entire multiyear project is completed, BNSF will operate two main tracks from Lambert, north of Alliance, down to and across the Tower 55 rail intersection near downtown Fort Worth. The intersection is one of the busiest in the country.
