Rail News: BNSF Railway
BNSF Railway Co. recently promoted Assistant Vice President of Financial Planning and Strategic Studies Paul Anderson to vice president of marketing support to succeed Fritz Draper, who’s been appointed vice president of business unit operations and support.
Reporting to Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer John Lanigan, Anderson previously served BNSF as manager of intermodal/automotive plans, director of economic analysis, director of marketing analysis and planning, and director of coal finance.
Reporting to Lanigan and EVP and Chief Operations Officer Carl Ice, Draper — who led business unit operations and support from June 1999 until March 2004 — has held stints as AVP and VP of intermodal operations.
“[Draper’s] knowledge and experience with our rail network, freight-car equipment management and intermodal facilities is needed now as we strive to improve velocity to handle the additional volumes coming to the railroad,” said Lanigan in a prepared statement.
BNSF also appointed Dennis Johnson VP and chief sourcing officer to succeed Ken Kempker, who left the railroad.
Most recently VP of business unit operations and support, Johnson previously held stints as Santa Fe Railway’s assistant controller, and AVP and assistant controller; and BNSF’s VP and controller. He reports to Ice.
