Viterra USA LLC closed last month on its acquisition of General Mills' 50 percent ownership stake in a BNSF Railway Co.-served grain facility in Northgate, North Dakota.

In addition to the grain facility, Viterra's presence in the state includes special crops facilities in Ray and Minot, as well as a grain elevator in Grand Forks.

The acquisition of the facility in Northgate is part of the company's efforts to expand its presence in North Dakota, said Viterra President and Chief Executive Officer for North America Kyle Jeworski in a press release.

"We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with local customers to provide them with superior service, including access to global markets, the expertise of our staff, flexible contracting options, and a wide variety of online tools that are available exclusively to Viterra customers across our asset network," Jeworski said.
