RailComm commissions derail, blue flag protection system for BNSF diesel shop

advertisement

RailComm Inc. recently shipped and commissioned a remote-control derail and blue flag protection system purchased by BNSF Railway Co. for its Havre, Mont., diesel shop.

To be controlled by RailComm’s DOC® (Domain Operations Controller) yard automation software, the system features the company’s universal switch controller (USC) as a control interface to existing field equipment, such as power derails and power switch machines. The USC enables the DOC® system to provide remote control to any third-party, new or existing, field equipment.

BNSF also will use RailComm’s RADiANT™ spread spectrum data radios to establish a wireless communications network between the DOC® system and field devices.
