The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently awarded RailComm Inc. a contract to provide a Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) system for the agency’s Washington County Commuter Rail Project.

TriMet will use RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) train-control system through a Web-enabled Software-as-a-Service delivery model. The RailComm DOC®:CTC system will integrate with the supplier’s existing track warrant control system in place on the Portland & Western Railroad.

DOC® is a next-generation computer-aided dispatching system used to centrally control and display status of signal interlockings, field devices and other mechanical, electro-mechanical or electronic devices. An advanced command, control, communications and information server-based platform, DOC® supports a variety of integrated solutions for indication, control, access and distribution of critical operational data.
