Invensys plc is taking a “brand new” approach to marketing the company’s status as a worldwide rail control and automation system provider. The firm recently created the Invensys Rail Group (IRG) to bring its four rail brands under one global company banner.

IRG comprises Safetran Systems Corp., which supplies control and automation systems to the worldwide railroad and transit industries; Westinghouse Rail Systems, which supplies signaling systems for mainline and mass transit railways in the United Kingdom, and markets systems in Europe and the Far East; Westinghouse Australia, which supplies railway signaling and control equipment in the country; and Dimetronic Signals, which supplies signaling and control systems for mainline and mass transit railways in the Iberian peninsula and other world markets.

IRG will offer customers a more comprehensive range of cross-company expertise, including control systems and communications, protection systems, trackside equipment, maintenance and service, project and system engineering, and design and manufacturing services.

“Each business unit will continue to promote and market itself under its existing brand and corporate identity,” said IRG Marketing Director Stephen Holt in a prepared statement. “We also will be able to draw on a pool of shared technology, goals and determination to meet our customers’ wider needs, wherever they are located.”
