KCSR and Texas DOT to install crossbuck blades, emergency notification signs at public crossings

advertisement

In Texas, Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR) trains cross 574 public and 398 private grade crossings. Of the public crossings, 294 are equipped with flashers and gates, 53 with flashing devices and 227 with crossbucks.

To boost safety at crossbuck-only public crossings, KCSR and the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) are jointly funding the installation of new crossbuck blades and emergency notification signs. A two-inch reflector strip will be visible on the sign post’s front and back.

During the next few months, TXDOT also will install a stop or yield sign at crossbuck crossings.
