A week ago, Kansas City Southern Railway Co.’s (KCSR) signal department cutover Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) on a Meridan Speedway mainline between Bovay, La., and Smiths, Miss.
Combined with a CTC cutover between Smiths and Monument, Miss., completed earlier this year, KCSR now has installed the traffic control system on a 50-mile stretch of the Speedway.
In the second quarter, the railroad plans to finish extending CTC from Bossier City through Shreveport to Foster, La.; in the third quarter, KCSR expects to complete an extension from Texas Avenue to the south end of Deramus Yard in Shreveport.
