Montana DOT to upgrade two grade crossings next year

advertisement
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking public comments on a proposal to install gates and signal lights, and upgrade a surface at a grade crossing northwest of Missoula.
The work would be completed in conjunction with Montana Rail Link and Missoula County; construction is tentatively scheduled for 2012.
MDOT would provide funding for the signal system and part of the concrete crossing surface; Montana Rail Link would install the signals and crossing surface; and Missoula County would provide traffic control during work and patch the roadway after a new concrete crossing surface is installed.
Last month, MDOT sought public comments on a proposal to install crossing gates, signal lights and an improved surface at a crossing southwest of Ravalli. Also tentatively slated for next year, the project would be completed in conjunction with Montana Rail Link and Lake County. MDOT would fund the signal system and part of the concrete crossing surface.
