North Carolina DOT to close another grade crossing
advertisement
On Dec. 9, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will permanently close a grade crossing near Franklinton on Winston Street.
The crossing had been identified for closure as part of the department’s effort to reduce the number of redundant or unsafe crossings throughout the state.
NCDOT officials work with communities to close or consolidate “dangerous” or redundant crossings, the department said. Since 1993, the agency has closed more than 130 public crossings.
