Rail News: Communication and Signal
RailComm Inc. recently commissioned a Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system for Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District's (NICTD) dispatch center in Michigan City, Indiana. The system supports four dispatcher desks.
The RailComm system controls the first phase of interlocking locations that have been converted from ABS control to a modern centralized traffic control (CTC) system. The RailComm DOC system provides CTC mainline control, track warrant dark territory control and full-featured SCADA capability to control and monitor 11 electrical substations along the NICTD right of way.
The SCADA system provides a series of alarms and indications for various field-based detectors, including intrusion alarms, passenger annunciator, fire alarms and equipment health monitors.
