Ohio utilities commission OKs upgrades at two crossings

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) recently approved construction authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission directing U S Rail Corp. to install mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at a grade crossing in Wellston.
Work must be completed by Dec. 12, 2013. Funding will be covered by federal dollars.
PUCO also approved construction authorization directing Central Railroad of Indiana to upgrade eight-inch flashing lights to 12-inch LED flashing lights at a crossing in Cincinnati.
Work must be accomplished by Dec. 19, 2013. Funding will be shared by the railroad and PUCO.
