Rail News: Communication and Signal
There’s revenue and profit growth, and then there’s explosive revenue and profit growth. RailComm Inc. has achieved the latter. During the first half of fiscal-year 2006, the privately held company’s revenue skyrocketed 585 percent and profits jumped 272 percent compared with the same FY2005 period.
Additional deliveries of railroad dispatching and yard-control systems drove the increases, RailComm said. The company supplies communication devices, including data radios; provides control/remote control products and software for centralized traffic control, dark territory train and yard control, asset management and SCADA; and offers other railroad control and management software applications.
This month, RailComm plans to relocate to a Fairport, N.Y., facility that will provide three times the office and production space compared with the existing plant.
