Austin, Texas, commuter-rail agency Capital Metro recently contracted RailComm Inc. to provide its Domain Operations Controller (DOC(r)) system for track warrant control and centralized train control functions.

RailComm also will provide more than 75 field code emulator devices and wireless communication modules for all control points, and configure two redundant servers with automatic failover to support a six-workstation control center in Austin.

Capital Metro will be able to gain secure, remote access to the system via an Interrnet connection and authorize personnel to view the status of their operations 24/7.

A command, control, communications and information server-based platform, DOC(r) is designed to support various integrated systems for indication, control, access and distribution of operational data across a railroad enterprise.
