Earlier this month, Southwest Signal Engineering Co. acquired Denver Signal Design Inc., which provides railroad signaling services, including installation, construction, maintenance, estimating, design and management.

Southwest Signal named former Denver Signal engineering head Marc Araneta manager of engineering for the Denver group. He reports to Southwest Signal Vice President of Operations James Winter.

“The acquisition … complements Southwest’s mission of providing the highest quality engineering services in a timely manner and at a competitive cost,” said Southwest Signal President and Chief Executive Officer James Mayer in a prepared statement.

Southwest Signal provides signal, communication and track engineering, and signal and communication equipment wiring, assembly and construction services, primarily for the railroad industry.
