Union Switch & Signal Inc. recently appointed Keith Szewczyk director of product development; Scott Baird, vice president of the company’s Automation & Information System (A&IS) unit; and J. Jay Anderson, director of engineering for A&IS.

To be responsible for signaling and train control product development, Szewczyk has served US&S the past eight years as project engineer, product line manager and senior engineer.

Baird, who joined US&S in 2001 as a consulting engineer, will be responsible for Computer Aided Dispatching, planning, Web-enabled information and yard control product lines. He previously served as manager of product development and director of software engineering. Prior to US&S, Baird co-founded two start-up companies and was director of products for Formtek.

Since joining US&S in 2002, Anderson has served as a senior project engineer for dispatching systems. His previous stints include engineering manager and system engineer at GE – Transportation Systems, and chief system engineer for reactor control and limitation systems at Westinghouse.

An Ansaldo STS subsidiary, US&S provides signaling, automation, and control equipment and systems to the worldwide rail and mass transit industries.
