The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) yesterday extended its automatic train control (ATC) signaling system by five stations from St. Patrick to Queen stations.

As part of the work, a train turn-back was added to King Station, providing more operational flexibility, TTC officials said in a press release.

ATC is now in service on more than half of Line 1 between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Queen stations.

The project's next phase will extend ATC from Queen Station to Rosedale Station by November. The entirety of Line 1 is scheduled to be converted to ATC by September 2022.
